A laboratory package specifically designed for the initial assessment of female fertility. It measures the key hormones that regulate the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis: follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) from the pituitary gland, and estradiol (E2) and progesterone from the ovary. Prolactin levels are also measured, as elevated prolactin (hyperprolactinemia) is a common, though not directly ovarian, cause of ovulation disorders and infertility. These tests are performed on specific days of the menstrual cycle to obtain accurate information about ovarian reserve and ovulation.
