Bacterial Endotoxin Safety Test - Bacterial Endotoxin Test

A laboratory test (often using the limulus amiosite lysate test - LAL) to detect and measure endotoxin, a potent bacterial toxin found in the outer cell wall of Gram-negative bacteria. It is routinely used to check the quality of sterile medical products and sometimes in the blood as a supporting indicator of Gram-negative bacterial sepsis (blood poisoning).
