Anti-Jo-1 Antibody Test

A serological test detects autoantibodies directed against the enzyme histidyl-tRNA synthetase. Anti-Jo-1 is the most common prototype (present in approximately 20% of cases) among the group of antisynthetase antibodies associated with antisynthetase syndrome. This syndrome is an autoimmune disorder characterized primarily by myositis, interstitial lung disease (ILD), and arthritis.
