Anti-Histone Antibody Test

A qualitative and quantitative serological test to detect and measure the titer of antihistone antibodies in serum. Histones are proteins that bind to DNA in the cell nucleus. The titer of these antibodies is significantly elevated in drug-induced systemic lupus erythematosus (DLE), and may also be present at lower levels in patients with primary systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and other connective tissue diseases.
