Urine 17-Ketosteroids (17-KS) analysis is a quantitative measurement of a group of metabolites of male androgen hormones, performed on a 24-hour urine collection sample. This group includes androgen metabolites produced by both the adrenal cortex (such as dehydroepiandrosterone - DHEA) and the testes (such as testosterone, although the testes' contribution is relatively smaller). The test provides an estimate of the overall androgen production activity in the body, with a focus on the adrenal region.
