Cervical smear cytology (LBC) involves collecting the cell sample in a container with a special preservative solution instead of transferring it directly to a glass slide. This method allows for purification of the sample from impurities (blood, mucus, inflammatory cells) and the creation of a thin, homogeneous layer of cells, which improves microscopic examination quality and the accuracy of diagnosing cellular abnormalities (precancerous and cancerous changes).
