Measures concentration of Type III Procollagen Amino-Terminal Propeptide (PIIINP) in serum. PIIINP is a byproduct during type III collagen synthesis, the main type of collagen deposited in early stages of fibrosis (organ scarring), making it an indicator of connective tissue synthesis activity and fibrosis progression.
