HHV-8 PCR Test - Human Herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8) PCR Test

This test uses Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) technology for the qualitative and/or quantitative detection of Human Herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8) DNA in blood or body tissue samples. This virus is closely associated with the development of Kaposi's Sarcoma and rare lymphoproliferative disorders such as Castleman's Disease and Primary Effusion Lymphoma (PEL), especially in immunodeficient patients.
