TNF-Alpha Inflammation Marker Test - Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha (TNF-Alpha) Test

This test measures the concentration of the pro-inflammatory cytokine TNF-α in blood serum or other body fluids. This protein is primarily produced by macrophages and activated T cells and plays a pivotal role in the innate and adaptive immune response, systemic inflammation, and the regulation of apoptosis (programmed cell death). It is used to assess the severity of inflammation in autoimmune diseases and to guide anti-TNF therapy.
