The Food Allergy Panel (FALL) IgE test is a serological test that measures serum levels of specific IgE antibodies (immunoglobulin E) against antigens of 40 common allergenic foods. Elevated levels of specific IgE against a particular food are associated with an immediate allergic response (type I), which can range from mild symptoms (rash) to severe, life-threatening symptoms (anaphylaxis). This test is an objective tool for confirming the clinical diagnosis of IgE-mediated food allergy.
