Platelet Disorder Assessment - Immunohistochemistry (IHC): CD61

This diagnostic package, based on immunohistochemistry, includes the examination of a range of markers related to platelet formation and myelogenous origin. The package primarily involves the examination of CD61 (glycoprotein IIIa), a component of the GPIIb/IIIa complex found on the surface of platelets and megakaryocytes, as well as essential complementary markers: CD42b (glycoprotein Ib), a broader myelogenous marker such as CD41 (glycoprotein IIb), and an epithelial cell marker such as cytokeratin (Pan-CK). The package aims to identify the presence and distribution of platelet-producing cells, aid in the diagnosis of myelomas and megakaryocytes, and confirm or rule out platelet origin from circulating cells.
