This diagnostic package, based on immunohistochemistry, includes the testing of a range of markers to diagnose a variety of tumors. The package primarily includes testing for CD56 (NCAM - Neural Cell Adhesion Molecule), a membrane marker expressed by natural killer (NK) cells, certain T cells, neurons, and neuroendocrine tumor cells, as well as essential complementary markers: CD3 (T cell marker), CD20 (B cell marker), Synaptophysin or Chromogranin A (neuroendocrine tumor markers), and Cytokeratin (Pan-CK). The package aims to differentiate tumors of NK/T-cell origin from B-cell lymphomas and to identify neuroendocrine tumors (such as small cell lung cancer and adrenal gland tumors).
