This diagnostic package, based on immunohistochemistry, includes the testing of a range of markers to diagnose and classify B-cell and T-cell lymphomas. The package primarily includes CD5 testing, a membrane marker expressed by normal T cells and certain subsets of neoplastic B cells, as well as the essential complementary markers: CD20 (B-cell marker), CD3 (T-cell marker), and CD23. The package aims to differentiate between chronic lymphocytic lymphoma/small cell lymphoma (CLL/SLL – CD5, CD20, and CD23 positive) and mantle cell lymphoma (MCL – CD5 and CD20 positive, typically CD23 negative), as well as to identify T-cell lymphomas (CD5 and CD3 positive).
